Student Governor Inductions are to help students understand their role within their college board. The inductions are delivered by the Association of Colleges on behalf of ETF. All inductions are free.

Who is this for?

This course is suitable for student governors only. 

Programme structure

This is a two-hour live online session.

What will you gain?

This course aims to: 

• Support student governors to gain a better understanding of their role and the further education sector. 

CORE LEARNINGS

Understand your duties as a trustee and the legal responsibilities of a college board.

Explore the ethical behaviours and guiding principles of good governance.
Understand how college boards are structured and what makes a board effective.
Develop effective meeting participation and questioning skills to increase your impact and influence.
Network with and learn from other student governors.

Know where to find support, guidance and advice when you need it.

Gain insight into the FE sector and the priorities currently shaping colleges.
